Delighted Olympic silver medallist Greg Drummond has been back at his old stomping ground.
He arrived to a packed Forfar Indoor Sports where he was greeted by old friends and new fans after making history with Team GB men’s curling team by winning silver in the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
He was given a welcome home presentation when he arrived at the rink on Thursday night.
The former Forfar Academy pupil said: “It feels good to be home. It was a long three weeks out in Russia and it takes a lot out of you, but it was fantastic, I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life.”
Greg, who lives in Stirling, said the team gradually became aware of the support behind him from home and said it was an amazing feeling to “fly the flag” at the Games.
He and his team-mates will enjoy a few weeks off mixed with some media duties before preparation starts for a spring tournament in Canada.
Before that, however, Greg will have the chance to parade his medal in front of another group of fans after being invited to Ibrox as Ally McCoist’s guest.
The Rangers fan said: “It’ll be nice to do something like that after the support I got from the fans on Twitter.”
