£25,000 still on offer to track down Inverkeilor train derailment vandals
ByGraeme Bletcher
A £25,000 bounty has been placed on the heads of vandals who derailed an Edinburgh to Aberdeen train last year.
Almost exactly a year on from the high-profile incident at Inverkeilor, near Arbroath, officers from British Transport Police have renewed their appeal for information.
An investigation into the derailment on November 4 last year revealed an obstruction was deliberately put on the line causing a CrossCountry train to skid off the tracks around 10am.
The rail industry has now put up the substantial reward for any further intelligence that leads to an arrest or a conviction.
British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
