An angry man “stormed” into a playpark and kicked a youth he believed was bullying another boy, Forfar Sheriff Court has heard.
Ian Hutchison, 45, previously admitted assaulting a 15-year-old at Kirriemuir Den on July 15, kicking him on the leg.
Hutchison, of the town’s Knowehead Crescent, further admitted assaulting a woman to her injury, threatening a child with violence, and causing a breach of the peace.
Fiscal depute Chris McIntosh said children were playing in the area around 8pm that night.
“The accused appeared to take umbrage at some altercation that had happened and stormed through the play area,” he said.
The accused swore at the teenage complainer on his bike, and kicked his leg after asking “are you one of them?”
A female bystander was the mother of one of the children in the group, and she attempted to intervene.
Mr McIntosh said Hutchison grabbed her by the shirt and caused her skin to redden.
Police attended and Hutchison was “belligerent” to them.
The accused’s defence agent said his client’s emotions “were running high”.
Hutchison was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work over a six-month community payback order.
