Hospitalfield event to celebrate the songs and poems of Angus

A special concert celebrating the timeless folk tradition of Angus will take place at Hospitalfield House in Arbroath later this month.
Steve Byrne and Scott Gardiner will perform the works of local songwriters and lyric poets of the past and present, including Violet Jacob, Marion Angus, Helen Cruickshank, Jim Reid, Steve Inglis, Norman Buick, and George Webster Donald.
After a sell-out concert last year presented classic and contemporary interpretations of poet Violet Jacob’s work, singers Steve Byrne and Scott Gardiner return on November 14 to perform works from The Wild Geese to the Ballad of Flechy Eck, The Bonnie Lass o Cairnie to Yellow on the Broom.
