Firefighters were called to a blaze at a Mearns chip shop on Sunday afternoon.
Two crews from the Stonehaven firestation on Brickfield Road attended at Sandy’s Fish and Chip shop in Market Square.
The alarm was raised at around 1.50pm and both of the units were on the scene within minutes.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for heat spots in the building while a positive pressure ventilation fan was set up to clear smoke.
A spokeswoman at the Scottish Fire and Rescue service Grampian control room confirmed the blaze had been put out with the aid of a carbon dioxide extinguisher.
The fire was brought under control by 2pm after using a fire blanket.
A third crew from Aberdeen was dispatched but stood down by control before arrival.
