Keith delighted PSP fight is being taken to Scottish Parliament

A dying Angus man says he is delighted his fight is being acknowledged in the Scottish Parliament.
Keith Swankie’s tweets about PSP Awareness Week were spotted by Glasgow MSP Bob Doris, who has now lodged a motion at Holyrood.
He is also hoping to arrange for a parliamentary event to further inform MSPs about PSP which has left the former Arbroath supermarket manager “delighted.”
Mr Swankie has the rare and fatal neurological disease progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
He was diagnosed in April 2012, more than two years after suffering from eye problems, and the life expectancy from onset is thought to be around eight years.
The motion by Mr Doris asks the parliament to welcome PSP Awareness Week and hopes that this will lead to more support being available to people with the condition or whose lives are affected by it.
“I am absolutely delighted at this news,” Keith said. “It all comes on the heels of some good news with regards my own personal care.”
