The victim of an alleged Angus murder had been due to appear in court.
The remains of Montrose woman Kimberley (Kim) MacKenzie were found at several locations in the town last Wednesday.
Two people, Steven Jackson, 39, and Michelle Higgins, 28, both from the town, appeared on murder charges before Sheriff Ferguson at Forfar on Monday and made no plea or declaration.
It has now emerged that 37-year-old Ms MacKenzie was due to appear on an intermediate diet at Forfar Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
However, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal’s Service decided to treat the case as “not called”.
The service would not confirm the content of the charges against young mother Ms MacKenzie, but confirmed any cases against the deceased have been closed.
Ms MacKenzie was last seen on October 26.
