Police are investigating a report that fireworks were deliberately set off near moving vehicles in Angus on Thursday night.
A member of the public contacted police to say that fireworks were being set off next to vehicles near Seaton Woods in Auchmithie, near Arbroath.
The report has prompted Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to issue a reminder of the dangers of fireworks.
“The implications of this type of behaviour are very serious indeed, for anyone within passing vehicles or anyone nearby for that matter,” a police statement said.
“Those who were involved in this dangerous and reckless activity may have viewed it as a bit of harmless fun, but they should consider the potential consequences of their actions.
“Fortunately no-one has been injured, but the outcomes could have been far worse. Fireworks are not toys, they are explosives and the injuries they cause can be severe and life changing.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
