New route cards which showcase some of the best cycling routes in Angus have been launched.
The pack of 10 cards gives details of cycle routes throughout the county, giving visitors and residents alike the chance to experience the stunning scenery and features the area has to offer.
The cards have been produced by the council in partnership with Angus Cycling Club, and its members have included some of their favourite regular routes.
Funding for the cards has been provided by the European Regional Development Fund, through a Rural Tourism Business Support Project which aims to deliver an innovative, collaborative, partnership approach to improving tourism in the east of Scotland.
Tom Ward of Angus Cycling Club said: “There is always something new to see when cycling in Angus. The scenery is spectacular and there is something for everyone from gentle fairly flat routes, to more challenging rides through the Glens.
“Of course there are always plenty of places to stop off for a cup of tea and piece of cake. We wanted to be able to share our favourite routes with others and are delighted that Angus Council helped us to do this.”
The cards are free and are available from cycle-friendly businesses, bike shops and tourist information centres. They can also be downloaded at www.angusahead.com/cycling.
Councillor Mairi Evans, spokespwoman for tourism, said: “Hopefully this will encourage more people to visit the area and bring their bikes with them.”
