Man dies after three-vehicle crash on A92 in Angus

A man has died after a three-vehicle accident on the A92 in Angus.
The 79-year-old, who was drving a red Volkswagen Golf, succumbed to his injuries after the crash on the Arbroath side of A934/A92 junction at the hamlet of Maryton at around noon on Friday.
A 47-year-old woman driving a blue Mercedes Sprinter Van suffered serious injuries, while her passenger sustained minor injuries.
The 50-year-old man driving a Ford Ranger pick-up also suffered minor injuries in the collision and all were taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
A police investigation is under way.
A stretch of the A92 is completely shut, with diversions on place at Maryton on the Montrose side and at Braehead on the Arbroath side of the road.
The road is expected to reopen later on Friday evening.
