ByRichard Watt
Arbroath’s all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched to assist a 33ft Tyneside-based yacht with three people on board that was thought to have struck rocks attempting to enter the harbour.
HM Coastguard were called shortly after 9pm on Thursday night and both lifeboats were launched shortly after to help the boat enter the harbour under its own power from 2.5 miles out.
Both lifeboats returned to station at 10.30pm and there were no casualties during the incident.
