Investigation launched after gas cylinders dumped in Angus field

An investigation has been launched after gas cylinders were among debris dumped in an Angus field.
Parts of a bath, old wood, earth and the bottles were dumped in a field near the old Torith building off Emmock Road in Tealing.
An Angus Council spokesman said: “While we are not responsible for the removal of waste from private ground, we will liaise with the landowner and carry out enquiries to try and establish who was responsible for this irresponsible behaviour.
“Littering and flytipping are a risk to public health and the environment.
“It also costs about £53 million per year across Scotland, a public expense that could otherwise be far better invested in other ways.
“People can report flytipping by using our online form or by calling our Accessline on 03542 777 778.”
The spokesman urged people to go to the council’s website for more information about reporting flytipping incidents.
Torith went to the wall in December 2009 after going into administration.
