Community campaigners who have been fighting against a legal highs shop in Arbroath have welcomed news of its impending closure.
Misty Heaven at Fisheracre in Arbroath will have its last day of business on Saturday following months of pressure from the local church community and town campaigners.
The shop, which sells new psychoactive substances and a wide range of drug-taking paraphernalia, has been at the eye of a brewing storm in the town since it opened in May last year.
The “head shop” sits two doors along from a church-run rehabilitation drop-in centre and is passed by hundreds of pupils on their way to and from the nearby Arbroath Academy.
The Courier visited the shop on Friday and a member of staff confirmed it would shut on Saturday but denied it was the result of public pressure.
