Firefighters cut elderly woman free after two-car accident in Forfar

An elderly woman was cut free by firefighters after being involved in a two-car crash in Forfar.

She had been a passenger in a grey-coloured Seat car that was involved in a collision with a silver Toyota Yaris at the junction of John Street and Market Street at about 9.15am on Wednesday.

Emergency services were quickly at the scene of the crash and firefighters worked to free the 73-year-old woman from the front of the vehicle.

She was assessed by ambulance staff having complained of chest pain and an arm injury before she was taken to Whitehills Hospital in Forfar for further assessment. Her injuries are not thought to be serious.

No one else was reported to have been hurt in the incident and the stricken cars were removed from the area.

Police Scotland appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 101, or speak to any police officer.
