Around 12,000 music fans soaked up another unforgettable weekend of live music in Montrose.
People, young and old, enjoyed more than 200 free gigs in over 25 venues to make the eighth annual MoFest the biggest to date.
The festival won many new friends including Northern Irish indie legends Ash, who heaped praise on the voluntary committee.
Ash opened the festival on Friday night at the town hall with a storming set and frontman Tim Wheeler told The Courier he was full of admiration for the MoFest team.
“We can relate to what they are doing because we are from Downpatrick which is roughly the same size as Montrose,” he said.
“We formed a band but it was hard to get live music acts to play in Downpatrick so we tried to create our own scene.
“There were about eight bands and we would put on gigs in different places so it’s great that these guys have done something similar.

Tim said the Town Hall reminded the band of their early gigs playing in the school gym in Downpatrick.
He appeared genuinely humbled at the reception the band received at the gig on Friday and said the gig had been “a blast.”
Pubs throughout the town hosted gigs on Saturday and Sunday, while the MoFest Dome offered intimate acoustic sets.
The combination of an extremely popular High Street main stage, the addition of the “Market Street” eateries and outdoor drinking spaces, as well as the appearance of the sunshine, brought revellers out in their thousands.
MoFest’s chairman David Paton was delighted that the event had once again drawn people in from across Angus and far beyond.
He said: “It’s been fantastic. Absolutely fantastic and has exceeded all our expectations once again.”
