Organisers have hailed bumper ticket sales for Montrose Music Festival’s two headline shows.
David Paton, chairman of the Montrose Music Festival, said tickets for Bryan Adams and Jools Holland are selling beyond initial expectations.
He said: “We’ve had an absolutely amazing response to the headline acts for this year’s MoFest.
“We expect tickets to Bryan Adams’ show to sell out in the next few weeks, with tickets for Jools Holland not too far behind.”
Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will kick off MoFest’s three-day live music event, on Friday May 27 on the East Links.
He will be joined by special guests Arthur “Gaps” Hendrickson and Pauline Black from The Selector and Ruby Turner.
Canadian singer Bryan Adams famous for hits such as Summer of 69 and Run to You will play outdoors at East Links on Sunday August 7, as part of his Get Up Tour of the UK.
This is the rocker’s only outdoor show in Scotland following the release of his latest studio album, Get Up, in October.
Adams and Holland are the latest names in a lengthening line-up of famous musicians that have been signed up to play the festival following previous appearances from Ash, Status Quo and Madness.
David added: “This is MoFest’s ninth year and we have been overwhelmed by the public’s response to our superb line-up.
“To have sold so many tickets to see Bryan Adams and Jools Holland at this stage is a great position to be in, as we focus on preparing to deliver a MoFest to remember.”
Last year’s MoFest attracted more than 12,000 music fans, contributing approximately £750,000 to the local economy.
