A Brechin teenager showing signs of “rapidly escalating misbehaviour” has admitted a series of offences.
Dylan Ferguson, 16, of Church Street, appeared from custody at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Monday.
He pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace on Church Street, Brechin, by shouting, swearing and striking the windows and door of the Old Bolag Bar with his fists. He also admitted possessing a rubber mallet during the incident on August 16 and challenging patrons of the pub to a fight.
Ferguson also pleaded guilty to acting in a threatening and abusive manner to three people in a separate incident on October 25 on Swan Street, Brechin, by shouting and swearing at them.
Defence solicitor Nick Markowski told Sheriff Peter Paterson all of Ferguson’s behaviour in the offences was alcohol-related.
Sheriff Paterson deferred sentence for three weeks for the preparation of reports and granted Ferguson bail.
He said: “You have to adhere to the conditions of your bail and that includes appearing at court and cooperating in the preparation of reports. You are required to attend the social work appointments and if you don’t you will be remanded in custody, especially given your rapidly escalating misbehaviour.”
Ferguson will next appear on November 7 at Forfar Sheriff Court.
