Pie Bob’s granted longer opening hours despite police concern

An Angus eatery that became synonymous with “penis flash dance buffoonery” has had its opening hours extended to 5am despite a police plea for caution.

Pie Bob’s in Arbroath had the world talking after our report of a court case involving the takeaway was tweeted and reposted on Facebook by several celebrities and website Buzzfeed.

The likes of columnist Caitlin Moran and comedian Kevin Bridges were soon discussing the incident on Twitter, and the article is one of our most read online.

It is understood the eatery is now free to open until 5am despite a representation from Police Scotland at Angus Council’s licensing board.
