Red Arrows pilot makes flying visit to Arbroath ahead of Festival of Heroes

Flight Lieutenant Stew Campbell of the Red Arrows has visited Arbroath ahead of the town’s Festival of Heroes event on June 4.
Flt Lt Campbell, who flies the Red 8 position in the 2016 team, met the festival’s chairman, Jamie Buchan, to discuss issues such as health and safety.
Mr Buchan said it was “another step forward for the committee of this self funding event” and on his departure Flt Lt Campbell was presented with the first Arbroath Festival of Heroes mug and a personalised mug for his wife.
The display team is booked to perform at the Arbroath event but that will only happen if £10,000 can be raised by the public.
The festival’s organising committee previously said the Red Arrows will be “an almost impossible element to afford” if the target is not met.
