Five men have been committed for trial over alleged involvement in serious organised crime following a cash machine raid in Angus.
The men, from Liverpool and Birmingham, appeared in court following the theft of an ATM from a shop in Carnoustie on February 12.
Anthony Conroy, 28, Andrew White, 26, Nanu Miah, 27, Robin Vaughn, 43, and Carl Cavanagh, 32, have all been charged with the theft of a vehicle and its contents and involvement in serious organised crime.
They are all from Liverpool except Miah, from Birmingham, who faces further charges under the Road Traffic Act including dangerous driving.
The charges against them are that on Friday February 12 they stole a car from an address in Arbroath and used it in organised crime, namely to break into the Co-op store in Barry Street, Carnoustie, and steal an ATM containing £16,100.
It is further alleged that Miah drove a stolen car bearing false licence plates, without insurance and that at the Westway Retail Park in Arbroath he repeatedly reversed into another car while police were standing behind it and caused damage to the car.
The five men made their second appearance on petition in front of Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar on Tuesday.
The men appeared in private from custody, made no plea nor declaration and were fully committed for trial.
Only White was granted bail but remains in custody pending a Crown appeal and his next appearance is anticipated within eight days.
The date of next appearance for his co-accused is yet to be determined.
