Woman suffered ‘horrific’ injuries in Kirriemuir domestic assault

An Angus man caused “horrific” injuries to his partner during a domestic incident in Kirriemuir.

Peter Cameron, 25, of the town’s Prosen Road, admitted assaulting the woman to her injury on Lindsay Street on February 21.

Depute fiscal Jill Drummond said: “The accused grabbed the complainer by the chin, digging his fingernails in and with force pushed her to the ground.”

Sheriff Gregor Murray was provided a photo of the complainer’s injuries after the incident.

He said: “The photographs I am looking at here are absolutely horrific.”

Sentence was deferred to January 14 for reports and bail was continued.
