A man who stumbled into a woman’s home rambling incoherently with his trousers round his knees was given a community payback order.
Glen Ford, 49, of King Street, Montrose, previously admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner while under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he barged into an address in the town uninvited and began to shout at the occupants on June 26.
He appeared at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Tuesday, where he was also ordered to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work.
The court heard how the complainer and her daughter were in the living-room of the property when Ford came in uninvited.
He proceeded to sit down and take off his trousers.
He continued to speak incoherently and then threw his trousers across the room after taking them off.
The witnesses became alarmed and Ford was asked to leave but refused and began to raise his voice.
The police were contacted and he was eventually taken into a police vehicle.
Ford had previously been given a deferred sentence for the offence while background reports were prepared.
Sheriff Gregor Murray said the reports were positive and he took into account Ford’s good behaviour since the incident.
He said he was prepared to deal with the punishment with unpaid work as an alternative to custody.
