A woman who gave nearly 70 years of service towards Girlguiding in Angus has died.
Isobel Mackay died in Roxburghe House in Dundee on Sunday.
She was born in Barry in 1928 and started her association with the Guides as a Brownie in the village.
She then joined the 2nd Guide Company at the High School of Dundee. After leaving school she joined the Carnoustie Brownie pack as a pack leader.
She went on to hold many Guiding posts including Brownie and Guide Guider, cadet leader at local and county level, district and division commissioner, camp adviser and international adviser, county archivist and a vice-president of Girlguiding Angus.
She was an active and valued member of the Ladenford Den Committee from the planning stage when it was being built to its 40th anniversary and beyond.
Miss Mackay was awarded a Laurel Award, one of Girlguiding’s top awards, in 1973 in recognition of her service.
She also received a long service award at the Scottish annual review in Dundee in 2013 from the Chief Guide Gill Slocombe.
Miss Mackay, who lived in Barry, played golf and was an honorary member of Panmure Golf Club.
She also taught needlework at Anton House children’s home.
The funeral will be held at Parkgrove Crematorium on Tuesday at 2.30pm.
