Reports of smoke from St Cyrus Village Hall prompted an emergency response just after 9am. The Grampian control room for Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed a small fire had occurred in the men’s toilet. A spokesman said: “We had a call at 9.03am and three appliances attended, one from Laurencekirk and two from Montrose. The fire was contained and crews left after 9.36am. There were no suspicious circumstances.”
