Young Angus woman Naomi Selfridge has graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to become an officer in the Territorial Army.
Naomi, 21, from Muirdrum, near Carnoustie, took part in ceremonial parade in front of family and friends to mark her completion of a leadership course which made her live up to the army’s motto “Be the Best”.
Having spent more than a year in training, Naomi underwent three weeks on the tough final course at Sandhurst, recognised as one of the best leadership training centres in the world.
“The level of instruction was incredibly high,” she said.
“The instructors have a wealth of experience, and there is a purpose behind each activity, but they all want you to succeed.”
Naomi was led to joining the Territorial Army after years of listening to the sound of guns on exercise at Barry Buddon training centre near her home.
