Car damaged by object hurled during Angus road rage incident
ByThe Courier Reporter
Police are appealing for information after a car was struck by an object hurled during a road rage incident in Angus.
It happened as the red Vauxhall Corsa was turning into Forfar from the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road on Friday morning.
The 24-year-old driver had moved from the northbound nearside to offside lane to turn off the road and onto the A932 route into the town between 8.30 to 8.45am. As he did so he went in front of the white Ford Transit-style flatbed lorry.
Its driver closed up to the Corsa, sounding the lorry’s horn and making a gesture at the other driver and, as the smaller vehicle moved into the central reservation, he threw an unknown object at the Corsa, puncturing its bodywork.
The Corsa’s driver and his 24-year-old passenger were unhurt.
The lorry driver is thought to be in his 20s and had two other men also in their 20s in the cab of the vehicle. He wore a grey top.
The flatbed lorry may have had the name of a construction company on its front, possibly in green or orange lettering.
Anyone who saw the incident or who can assist with enquiries is being urged call Police Scotland on 101, or speak to any officer.
