An Arbroath cafe owned by a £148 million Lotto winner has closed until further notice “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Sugar and Spice, which employs 21 people on the town’s High Street, has been owned by Gillian Bayford, 43, since last year.
Staff were told not to go in on Tuesday and staff who are now out of work have been told they will receive payouts.
A sign informing customers of the closure has been put on the window and door of the 50-seater tea room and restaurant.
The Bayfords won Britain’s second-biggest lottery win in 2012 but split in 2013, just 15 months after the EuroMillions windfall.
The couple, who have two children, marked their £148.6 million win with a holiday at Barry Downs caravan park near Carnoustie.
They had been living in a £6 million mansion on a 200-acre estate in Haverhill, Suffolk, before divorcing after nine years of marriage.
Mrs Bayford bought a £600,000 five-bedroom house at Kirkton of Auchterhouse near Dundee in 2013 after the marriage broke down.
She was working night shifts as a healthcare assistant and Adrian ran a second-hand music shop before they struck it lucky.
Mrs Bayford has invested £3m in property which included Sugar and Spice.
Mrs Bayford is originally from Kirkcaldy and was raised in Carnoustie where her parents still live and educated in Dundee.
