Sweeping changes to care for the county’s elderly could include changing more than a third of its sheltered units to retirement accommodation for the over-60s.
Two Angus Council committees will be asked to rubber-stamp a two-tier system, which will see applicants assessed for suitability as sheltered or retirement tenants.
Campaigner Beatrice Gerrard said she will arrange a public meeting over the proposals.
“This is something that is going to affect everyone in the community,” she said.
“Everybody’s got to get old.The days of family looking after family is out the door.”
