A teenager who assaulted three police officers outside an Angus police station has been fined.
Levi Hunt appeared at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Tuesday after the attack on the officers on May 4.
The 18-year-old from Whorterbank, Dundee, admitted assaulting a male police constable in Monifieth High Street by spitting in his face.
She further admitted punching a second male officer and lashing out at a female officer, striking her on the shoulder with her first, during the same altercation.
The court heard Hunt and a friend had been seen acting in an unruly manner outside the local police office. Depute fiscal Hazel Anderson said Hunt’s friend was under the age of 16 at the time the attack occurred.
She added: “The complainer in charge two was trying to quell the matter and trying to subdue her at the time. The officer has taken hold of the accused and she has repeatedly punched him in the face.
“I believe the injury was reddening to the face.”
Sheriff Peter Paterson ordered Hunt to pay £150 in compensation to the officer who was struck in the face. He admonished Hunt on the remaining charges.
