Angus Council is making changes to the waste collection service in moves it says will make it easier for residents to recycle more materials at home.
Following the trial of a kerbside recycling service in Angus, the council will be rolling out the scheme to 53,500 households across Angus.
The council says the new service will be a significant boost to the county’s recycling rate. The authority expects to eventually collect around 10,000 more tonnes of recycled materials a year.
The first phase, covering areas between Arbroath and Monifieth, will start next month.
Letters and an information booklet advising householders of the changes are being delivered from this week.
The council’s convener of communities, Donald Morrison, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the trial which also allowed us to gauge the feedback on the service.”
