A Forfar man who attempted to headbutt a police officer while under the influence of legal highs has appeared at the town’s Sheriff Court.
Alistair Peacock, 32, of Glenclova Terrace, previously admitted at Forfar Sheriff Court that on July 18 at an address on Ferry Street, Montrose, he assaulted a police sergeant.
He also previously admitted that on January 24 at his home address he assaulted Anne Simpson by slapping her on the face.
Defence agent Nick Markowski said Peacock “struggled” with legal highs last year.
He said: “He lost his job and psychologically he was very unwell. He is currently volunteering twice a week at Forfar Foodbank.”
Sheriff Pino Di Emidio ordered Peacock to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work for breaching a community payback order imposed last year.
He deferred sentence on the two assault charges until July 16 when there will be a community payback order review.
