Man due in court after 89-year-old injured in Angus accident

A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with a car accident in Angus on Friday night that left an elderly pedestrian with serious injuries.
An 89-year-old man sufferedbroken bones and fracturesfollowing an incident on the Forfar to Montrose Road.
On Sunday, police confirmed that a 33-year-old man had been arrested and is due to appear at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Monday.
The elderly man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment and the B9113 road was closed as crash investigators carried out inquiries into what happened.
On Saturday, Inspector Graham Young said the man remained in a “serious but stable” condition.
There is no update on his condition.
