The Angus public was given an insight into the inner workings of some of the county’s key services at the weekend with Doors Open Day.
Everything from court offices and libraries to churches and museums threw open their doors to the general public to show what goes on in the buildings on a daily basis.
A council spokeswoman said: “We’re so lucky to have such a rich cultural heritage in Angus.
“Doors Open Day allows members of the public the opportunity to see inside some buildings that are not normally accessible.
“It gives people the opportunity, free of charge, to take a look at some of the cultural and historical buildings that Angus is home to.”
Arbroath Sheriff Court enjoyed a succesful day with almost 100 visitors entering the building to see where justice is done in the town. It will be the last time the court participates in the event as it is set to close next year.
Arbroath’s fire station and lifeboat shed also welcomed visitors at the weekend as part of the event and showed the public how they go about their business of saving lives.
