A fundraising party was held on Saturday for a Kirriemuir girl who is battling cancer.
Lucy Wright, 5, was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma in January. It is a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.
Saturday’s event was sold out, with boys and girls of all ages attending the Princess and Pixaar Fundraising Fayre at Bar Central in Forfar. The day featured a disco, face painting, make up, games, stalls and raffles.
At times before her diagnosis, Lucy could not walk and had severe stomach pains which made her sick. Scans taken at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh revealed a large mass in her stomach.
Further tests found a tumour that covered half her side and this had spread to her bones and bone marrow. The fundraising is to provide money for any treatment and costs Lucy may need in the future.
Her parents, James and Emma, have been supported by the community since her diagnosis. A band night on October 11 has also been organised to raise money.
