A car crash victim is still in a “critical” condition following a horrific Angus accident.
The 31-year-old was recovered from the wreckage of a Vauxhall car following the accident near Brechin on Sunday.
The green Corsa left the road at around 11am and collided with the welcome sign for Stracathro Services, near the county’s main hospital.
Its passenger was taken from the car on a spinal board and treated at the side of the A90 by Tayside Trauma Team, before he was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The driver, a 30-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was later released from hospital.
Police confirmed no charges have been brought over the incident and appealed for the public’s help in gathering more information.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Division said: “A 31-year-old man is still in hospital following the incident.
“His condition is described as critical.
“A 30-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and has been released from hospital.
“The crash is the subject of a full investigation, and officers would be keen to hear from anyone passing the scene around the time of the incident, who may be able to offer information.
“Please call 101 or speak to any officer to do so.
“No charges have been brought.”
