The soft drinks industry’s contribution to Angus has been praised.
Businesses such as AG Barr based in Forfar have been commended for helping to contribute £7.7 billion to the UK economy through their work.
The British Soft Drinks Association recently published a new report, Refreshing the Nation, which demonstrates the significant impact the industry makes to economic growth, job creation and innovation in Angus.
Angus MP Mike Weir met AG Barr apprentice Alasdair Shepherd to learn more about the company’s presence in Forfar and hear about the skills and qualifications he is gaining.
Mr Weir said: “Strathmore Water, which is now part of AG Barr, is an important part of the Forfar economy, employing some 45 people.
“The company has made significant investment in the factory, as I have seen on my own visits.”
