Elderly man’s body found in Forfar Loch

The body of an elderly man has been found in Forfar Loch.

Local man George Roy, who was 78, was reported missing on Thursday. His body was recovered at around 3pm.

A police spokesman said: “Mr Roy’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.

“They do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
