Police hunt for ATM thug following attempted robbery

Police are hunting a man in a hoodie following an attempted Montrose street robbery.

The man assaulted and attempted to rob a 23-year-old woman in the High Street while she was using an ATM machine on Wednesday evening.

Although nothing was stolen, the woman suffered slight injuries to her hip and leg as a result of the incident.

The man is described as being about five feet six inches tall, of slim build and was wearing a navy hooded top and jeans.

Anyone who was in the area of High Street and saw or heard anything that may assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
