The Muscovy ducks make friends with some mallards at Murton.
Around a dozen domesticated Muscovy ducks that were dumped at the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Balgavies Loch reserve, where it was feared they would be targeted by foxes, have settled in at their new home.
Prompt action by warden Jim Hughes and Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer Stephanie Thomson led to the capture of the birds, which were taken to the nearby Murton Nature Reserve, where they are proving to be a welcome addition to the wildlife for visitors.
Murton Farm animal worker Sarah Dunbar said: “The ducks seem to have taken to the new environment really well.”
