The accident happened around 12.40pm on the A932 Forfar to Friockheim road which remains closed. The woman was cut from the wreckage of her vehicle by firefighters following the apparent head-on smash. The air ambulance was scrambled due to the rural location and the casualty was taken to Ninewells Hospital. One other person got out of the car before firefighters arrived. Police said a woman was taken to hospital but her condition is unknown at this time. The road has been closed in both directions. Police were diverting traffic but there is local access.
