A man has been arrested after a major police presence was seen in Forfar on Saturday morning.
Several marked cars and vans were seen along St James Road, near the town’s Asda and Strathmore Primary School. The road was closed while the incident, initially described as “major”, continued.
Police later confirmed that a 29-year-old man had been arrested on a warrant.
A spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following an earlier incident in the St James Road area of Forfar a 29-year-old man has been arrested on a warrant and will appear at court in due course.
“This was a contained incident while it was ongoing and there was no threat to the wider public at any time.”
