Top darts star Terry “Raging Bull” Jenkins delivered a glowing endorsement for an upcoming Angus “Auld Enemy” exhibition.

Scotland and England go toe to toe again on the dartboard at the Reid Hall in Forfar on Saturday with just a handful of tickets remaining.

Local businesses are expected to receive a welcome shot in the arm with many out-of-town visitors signed up to cheer on the stars at the 480- capacity venue.

Englishman Jenkins is one of the star names on the bill alongside Premier League star Robert Thornton and two-time World Champion Ted “The Count” Hankey.

Jenkins said: “It’s great for Forfar to be hosting such a big event everyone is really looking forward to it.”

He added: “When I played in the Premier League I always received great support from the Scottish crowds unless I was playing Gary Anderson.

“England against Scotland games are always a bit special and we’ll go there and bash the Scots up like we always do.”

Arbroath darts player Alan Soutar, Thornton, Ewan Hyslop and John Henderson will be representing Scotland on the night, while Hankey, Jenkins, Colin “Jaws” Lloyd and Peter “One Dart” Manley make up the England team.

The Reid Hall will be transformed with a stage, big screens, walk-on girls and MC Paul Wilson alongside Alan “Iceman” Warriner-Little to call the action.

The event is being organised by exhibition company Behind the Oche which also sponsors the Angus Darts Academy in Arbroath.

Managing director Russell Roebuck said local business should reap some rewards, from pubs and restaurants to newsagents and takeaways.
