‘Gaunt’ attacker attempts to rob man in Forfar

Police in Forfar are hunting a man after an attempted robbery at the weekend which left a man requiring hospital treatment.

The incident took place around 2am on Saturday in Carseview Road. Police said the victim was assaulted during the attempted theft.

Although the victim was treated at hospital, his injuries are not believed to be serious.

The man police are seeking is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5ft 9in and of very slim build.

He is of gaunt appearance and was wearing a black baseball cap, a blue hooded top, dark trousers, light trainers and gloves.
