An Angus gallery has scored a major coup by hosting an exhibition of the work of a world famous artist.

London-born Anna Jacobs has rubbed shoulders with the stars of the creative world as a result of her sought-after talents.

Her precise pen work and attention to detail have seen her skills requested by the likes of global fashion label Komodo, Hollywood A-list celebs and world-renowned photographers.

However, despite an often hectic schedule that encompasses being an artist, designer, singer and a mother, Anna has opened a month-long display in the Bank Street Gallery in Kirriemuir after finding out about the popular spot through a friend from Dundee.

The exhibition features Anna’s drawings of flying birds, which represent a new-found freedom she is now experiencing in her life.

Anna said: “My friend from school, Wendy Sutherland, lives in Dundee and is friends with the owner of the Bank Street Gallery Susie Clark.

“We started talking about organising a display some time ago and we have now managed to get it sorted.

“I started work on the pieces around 18 months to two years ago and it was at a time of great change in my life.

“I gave up my job in London and I had been desperate to start doing my art more full-time.

“It’s that feeling of when you finally fall into the pocket of who you naturally are the moment when you fly free.”

The exhibition runs until September 20 and for opening and viewing times, contact the gallery on 01575 570070.
