A man who went on the rampage outside Pie Bob’s in Arbroath has had his sentence deferred.
Appearing from custody, Garry Lee Gray, 26, Newton Avenue, Arbroath, was granted bail with a curfew condition and will appear again on July 16.
Gray pleaded guilty to an assault charge, smashing windows at Pie Bob’s and threatening to burn it down before jumping on a marked police car and lashing out and resisting arrest.
He admitted throwing a chair along the side of a car park on June 16 and approaching a man and a woman in a threatening and aggressive manner.
Gray also admitted assaulting a man, repeatedly poking him on the body, causing him to step backwards, and grabbing him by the upper arm. He further admitted threatening to damage property and threatening to burn down Pie Bob’s.
The charges also included; smashing the fascia at Pie Bob’s by throwing a chair and thereafter smashing two toughened laminated glass windows by throwing chairs and a table at them, causing the table and chair to break; jumping upon the bonnet of a marked police vehicle, jumping on the windscreen causing it to smash, and thereafter jumping upon the roof, causing a large dent; and resisting arrest by lashing out at two PCs with his arms and legs, and struggling violently.
