A Tayside child care worker has been accused of brandishing a piece of wood at a teenager with learning difficulties.
Scott Hamilton, who worked in Arbroath, faces a series of misconduct charges at a Scottish Social Services Council hearing next week.
It is alleged he would grunt and speak to the youngster in an intimidating manner and make disrespectful comments about his physical abilities.
The charge alleges on two occasions he pushed the youngster on to a sofa and used his leg to restrain him, while knowing the 17-year-old should not have been physically restrained.
It also alleges he caused the boy to fall to the ground and while he was lying on the ground, pressed both of his hands on to his face, thereby restraining him on the ground.
The SSSC further alleges he refused to allow the boy to go to the toilet, despite him making repeated requests to do so and he brandished a piece of wood at the teenager.
A final charge accuses Hamilton of making inaccurate and incomplete entries in his daily progress sheet and incident record.
The public hearing is scheduled for three days, starting on Wednesday.
