A drunken Angus man became threatening towards an 84-year-old woman after she saw him urinating in a garden.
George Jamieson, 52, of Caledonian Place, Montrose, appeared at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Tuesday over the incident on May 15.
He admitted making threats of violence at his home address a sheltered housing complex and at Arbroath police office.
The court heard the pensioner had shouted at Jamieson to “go home” after witnessing him from her bedroom window, and subsequently called her daughter.
Depute fiscal Jill Drummond said Jamieson then approached the window and started banging on it.
Police attended the pensioner’s address and found her in a “distressed and agitated state”.
Defence agent Billy Rennie said: “Mr Jamieson has had issues from time to time with drink. Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to recall a great deal about this.”
Sheriff William Wood fined Jamieson £300 and ordered him to pay £50 in compensation to his neighbour.
