A much-loved community figure has been found dead at home in Montrose.
Police attended an address on Coronation Way on Sunday after reports Wendy McCallum, 47, had died at her home.
They confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
Friends and colleagues in pub darts, pool and bowls leagues have paid tribute to the popular sportswoman.
The women’s captain of the Montrose area darts league, Angie Isbister, said: “I don’t think I ever met anyone quite like Wendy who no matter what pub sport she turned her hand to she excelled at them all.
“Whether it was darts, pool, golf, bowling or even dominoes she gave everyone a run for their money.
“There is going to be a massive gap in all these associations within the town without her wit and banter on an evening.
“You will be missed Wendy but certainly not forgotten.”
The former Montrose Academy pupil’s parents, Charles and Margaret, and her brother David were too upset to speak.
A police spokeswoman said: “Tayside Division attended at an address on Coronation Way, Montrose, at 8.45pm on Sunday July 14 following the sudden death of a 47-year-old.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
