Parents temporarily removed children from school after sex assault allegations

Angus parents removed their children from school in the wake of an alleged sex attack on a young girl.
Three eight-year-old boys were reported to the youth justice assessor following an incident, understood to be a suspected serious sexual assault, in Arbroath last Thursday.
A Courier source has revealed parents at at least one school kept their children away from class.
It is understood the situation has now been defused and children have returned to school as normal.
Angus Council refused to comment and said all inquiries are being passed to police.
Officers appealed for calm earlier this week as news of the alleged assault spread.
It is understood the allegations relate to a girl around the same age as the three boys.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Tayside Division is aware that there has been some tension in the local community surrounding a recent incident that was reported to the youth justice assessor and is working with its partners to address any concerns.”
