Plans for hundreds of new homes to form an extension to Monifieth will be unveiled at a public exhibition on Friday.
Developer Taylor Wimpey will showcase its designs for land at The Grange in Monifieth and is inviting public feedback before a formal planning an application is submitted to Angus Council.
The proposal is for a mix of 380 private and affordable family homes, which could help deliver new housing in south Angus, something which was identified as a requirement in the area’s strategic development plan.
In addition, Taylor Wimpey is considering providing land for a park-and-ride service, as well as a new recycling facility, which are also suggested features in the development plan.
The company hopes members of the local community in Monifieth will take the opportunity to come along and give their views as plans for the development are drawn up.
A team of experts will be on hand to speak to people and take questions about the planned development between 2pm and 8pm at the David Lloyd Sports Centre, Angus Gateway, just off the A92.
Andrew Roberts, strategic land manager for Taylor Wimpey, said: “Public exhibitions are an excellent way for Taylor Wimpey to engage at an early stage with the community in which it intends to deliver new developments.
“We take this part of the process very seriously and would encourage as many members of the public as possible to view our proposals.
“The Grange site is a logical extension to Monifieth. Our proposals include a mix of private new homes, as well as affordable housing, where there is currently a significant shortfall.
“We are also looking to provide land for a park-and-ride, as well as a new recycling facility, which could replace the town’s existing but constrained facility.”
It is expected a formal application will follow after the event.
